Each year Temple University’s Kornberg School of Dentistry sponsors an outreach trip to Haiti in which students provide emergency care to Haitians in Jeremie and the surrounding villages. This outreach group is appropriately called the Temple Haiti Club and is one of the dental schools most popular student clubs.
What makes the Temple Haiti Club so unique is that it is a non-profit organization that is run fully by dental students with the support of our great faculty. Some of the students many responsibilities include participating and planning fundraising, requesting donations, and organizing public relations with the ultimate goal of traveling to Haiti to provide dental care. These responsibilities are happily performed on top of the heavy course load of dental school.
